Captain Christopher Mattson has been a resident of Beaufort, SC since 2008 and a full time Beaufort, SC fishing guide and charter boat captain since 2011. After serving two tours of duty in Iraq with the United States Marine Corps as a diesel mechanic, Christopher was medically retired having served seven years. He then opened Mattson Charter Service. He has previously served on the local Coastal Conservation Association board, volunteers for the LowCountry Institute, has appeared on several educational fishing and nature programs, and provides guided trips for the Wounded Warrior project.

Now with over 25 years of experience fishing for a variety of species – both in freshwater and saltwater; inshore, near shore, and offshore; after many types of fish including species from the Gulf coast of Florida to the beaches of North Carolina – Christopher still loves to feel the thrill when there is a tug on the other end of the line.

Christopher has had a passion for all things fishing and aquatic since he was a small child. He began fishing for bream and bass in the freshwater ponds and canals of central Florida as a boy and has continued to expand his scope and skills ever since.
