Captain Christopher Mattson has been a resident of Beaufort, SC since 2008 and a full time Beaufort, SC inshore fishing guide and charter boat captain since 2011. After serving two tours of duty in Iraq with the United States Marine Corps as a diesel mechanic, Christopher was medically retired having served seven years. He then opened Mattson Charter Service. He has served on the local Coastal Conservation Association board and and as a sponsor since 2011, volunteers for the LowCountry Institute, provides guided trips for the Wounded Warrior project, and is a member of the Beaufort Chamber Of Commerce.
Now with over 25 years of experience fishing for a variety of species – both in freshwater and saltwater; inshore, near shore, and offshore; after many types of fish including species from the Gulf coast of Florida to the beaches of North Carolina – Christopher still loves to feel the thrill when there is a tug on the other end of the line.
Christopher has had a passion for all things fishing and aquatic since he was a small child. He began fishing for bream and bass in the freshwater ponds and canals of central Florida as a boy and has continued to expand his scope and skills ever since.
